We hope to see you at our special December Celebration, with music, goodies and the annual AAUW San Luis Obispo Holiday Gift Bags hands-on project. Coming soon to a festive venue near you!!
This service project for the community has been a part of our annual AAUW holiday celebration for lo these many years.
For the Branch it's a tradition of buying or collecting, sometimes from dentists' or dermatologists' offices, small gifts and toiletries for CAPSLO (Community Action Partnership) clients, wrapping assortments in festive cello bags and sending them off to make some cheer.
For over 20 years many branch members and guests have joined together in an assembly line to sort, bag up and be-ribbon these cheerful and useful Gift Bags. It's fun and fast, and we usually have well over 100 practical gifts to fill up a car with and take to CAPSLO for the holidays.
If you'd like to bring items, small gifts and toiletries, toothbrushes and toothpaste, nail clippers and hair accessories, puzzle books and pens, snacks, socks, gloves and scarves, or other care and comfort items are welcome. It's completely optional—we want to see you! We always have a substantial result, lots of useful things, and a fun time working together. Hope to see you there!
